I open the door and look around. A layer of white greets my eyes like a friend who came back to visit shortly after leaving. I bundle up in a warm fuzzy scarf and gloves. My boots crunch in the snow as I walk down the steps leaving a trail of footprints behind. I hold onto my coffee mug still steaming with fresh coffee. The aroma seems amplified by the snow; I steal a sip. Snowflakes are still floating down in no hurry at all. It’s calming to watch their descent. I tilt my head upward and stick out my tongue, like I used to as a child, trying to catch a snowflake on my tongue. Got one! It quickly melts and disappears leaving behind a slight refreshing taste. Even though snow isn’t what it used to be as a kid, it’s still pretty amazing.
YES!! This is awesome!

Your post has me dreaming of that amazing feeling of hearing school canceled for SNOW! Doesn’t seem I will be reliving that feeling this year…the forsythia have already bloomed!

I love how you described this small moment. This is a good reminder that snow can turn us back to little kids again.
